Update on the Preparations for the food distribution

As announced a month ago, we already bought a vehicle for this project, but other preparations have to be made. Most Schools just resumed this week, hence we are to kickstart the a child, a million smiles project as announced.

Below are the preparations that have been made for us to be able to kick start this project

• The change of papers and plate number for the vehicle is done already.

• The t-shirts have been printed too. Just 4 of them is what I was able to print, but some who wants to join us can get theirs but for a few since this is a charity project. Every other money available is for the food. A t-shirt was charged at N7500 which is about 15 steem.

• Today being 10th January 2025, I and 2 of my team members who happened to be at hand went to formally inform the Schools we are starting with about our plans to visit the school for the food aid. The essence of this pre-visitation is because it has to do with food and considering the fact that not all parents may allow their wards to eat outside, we had to visit to inform the school so that they can in turn announce to the children who will take the message home and if there is any rejection, we will get to know.

The schools we visited included

1. Ifa Ikotobong Primary school Uyo LGA

2. Methodist primary school Etoi Uyo LGA opposite Etoi secondary school

👉We met the head mistress of the first school and she really expressed her profound gratitude and said that this year will indeed be a blessing to the school. She this expressed her pity on the kids who have stopped schooling as a result of lack of food. According to her, although they have been receiving aids in form of writing materials and the likes, but that kids can't be able to learn without food. Most of them cry and become weak and finally stopped coming to school. She said that food is really what the kids need. According to her, when the state government provided food aids years back, they had a lot of population, but now, they have decreased in numbers. She was very glad to recognise news. We fixed a day that we will visit them next week which will like e on Tuesday.

The woman in the pictures above is the HM of the school while the other 2 men at the middle are the staff of the school.

👉For the second school, we met the second in command which is the vice or deputy headmistress of the school. She was happy though but couldn't take the decision but she assured us that she will inform the headmistress and get back to us.

• The goodnews is that we have e been funded for this project. As promised, @worldsmile through @smilenigeria account has just sent 200 steem to @steem.humanity which is the project account. This was done after @el-nailul was briefed of the development. The steem has already been transferred out so that the purchases can be made in advance

Next, @steemkidss also fulfilled her own promise by sending 100 steem to @ngoenyi's exchange wallet. This is not supposed to directly. But it will subsequently go to the project before it will be transferred going forward.

What is left is for the purchases to be made and the food preparation will begin on the said date. Further updates will be given in due course.
