Una vez más nos encontramos con el arte pictórico para motivarlos a escribir. Para esta edición 131 les traigo como invitada a Marie-Clémentine Valadon, mejor conocida en el mundo artístico, como Suzanne Valadon:

Valadon nació el 23 de septiembre de 1865 en Bessines-sur-Gartempe (Segundo Imperio Francés).

Su madre era una viuda lavandera, que casi no contaba con tiempo para atender a su hija.

Suzanne fue a una escuela de monjas. Allí le gustaba más pintar que escribir.

Cuando tenía 15 años trabajó como trapecista en un circo. Pero sufrió un accidente cuando entrenaba y abandonó este trabajo.

A los 18 años salió embarazada y fue madre soltera de su pequeño Maurice Valadon, quien luego fue reconocido por el pintor Miguel Utrillo, gran amigo deSuzanne; así pasó a llamarse Maurice Utrillo.

En el año 1896, Suzanne se casó con el corredor de bolsas Paul Moussis; con él llevó una vida burguesa, que le aburrió al poco tiempo.

Fue modelo de varios pintores famosos. De ellos captó algunas técnicas y estilos que luego utilizaba en la realización de sus obras, puews la artista nunca estudio en ninguna academia de arte.

Cuando tenía 44 años, se separó de su esposo para irse a vivir con el joven André Utter, de 23 años, que era amigo de su hijo. Utter fue modelo de muchos de sus desnudos masculino.

En 1914, Suzanne se casó con Utter. Pero él la traicionó y eso la afectó mucho. De modo que en el año 1934 se divorciaron.

Sus últimos años de vida, los pasó con otro joven llamado Gazi, a quien ella protegía y mantenía. No se sabe si vivían en calidad de amantes o de amigos. Esta convivencia duraría 4 años hasta que Suzanne falleció el 7 de abril de 1938 de un derrame cerebral.

Once again we find ourselves using pictorial art to motivate you to write. For this 131st edition I bring you as a guest Marie-Clémentine Valadon, better known in the artistic world as Suzanne Valadon:

Valadon was born on 23 September 1865 in Bessines-sur-Gartempe (Second French Empire).

Her mother was a widowed washerwoman who had little time to look after her daughter.

Suzanne went to a convent school. There she enjoyed painting more than writing.

When she was 15 she worked as a trapeze artist in a circus. But she had an accident while training and gave up this job.

At 18 she became pregnant and was a single mother to her little boy Maurice Valadon, who was later recognised by the painter Miguel Utrillo, a great friend of Suzanne's; thus he was renamed Maurice Utrillo.

In 1896, Suzanne married the stockbroker Paul Moussis; with him she led a bourgeois life, which bored her soon.

She was a model for several famous painters. From them she learned some techniques and styles that she later used in her works, as the artist never studied at any art academy.

When she was 44, she separated from her husband to go live with the young André Utter, 23 years old, who was a friend of her son. Utter was the model for many of her male nudes.

In 1914, Suzanne married Utter. But he betrayed her and that affected her greatly. So in 1934 they divorced.

Her last years of life were spent with another young man called Gazi, whom she protected and supported. It is not known if they lived as lovers or friends. This cohabitation would last 4 years until Suzanne died on April 7, 1938 from a stroke.

Here are three of her works so you can choose the one you like best to write about. The first is titled Two Seated Women (1897), the second, The Abandoned Doll (1897) and the third Miss Lily Walton (1920).
