Is Mentorship on Steemit a bad thing?
Over the few years, I have always heard that steemit needs to be promoted so that more users i.e. bloggers and probably investors may come into the platform and thereby helping the price of the token raise.
I came in contact with steemit in November 2020. At that time the person who introduced me had little knowledge about how the system works. Luckily enough, we came in contact with other Nigerians via the SteemAlive community.
This community helped to build us very well because most occasions they organised a lecture off-chain using Telegram and WhatsApp groups. It was a hectic period but since we were eager to learn, we pushed ahead and today here I'm.
Seeing how stressful the journey was, I decided that anyone I will mentor on steemit will have to be someone close to me and that I can see always. Promoting steemit is never an easy thing because a lot of people don't like mental stress.
I have talked to so many about the platform, some get started and then leave at some point whereas some do after their introduction post will just leave the platform. Seeing this got me very worried because it won't speak well of me.
I decided not to recruit more people to steemit unless they are fully convinced that they will want to continue till the end despite the ups and down they may be facing.
Recently, I was able to recruit a very ready woman. I said she is very ready because after hearing about steemit, will not see me without telling me she wants to join. I was looking down on her thinking she may not be able to go far on the platform because even the young people I introduce at some point stop posting.
After asking her a series of questions on how ready she is to blog on steemit, I notice she is very prepared. I decided to register and mentor her. She with Dave-hanny are sisters-in-law.
I was the same person who introduce Dave-Hanny initially. My curiosity and question came when my account was investigated. I'm not against the investigation because I have always been an honest user of the platform.
My only question is that will everyone who introduces and guides a user be investigated? If no, then I feel there is more to the investigation on my account. I have raised so high with hard work and dedication to the steemit platform. I know all the rules guiding the platform and I have also done my best to guide others through the right part.
I have made the mistake of plagiarising a screenshot in content but is that the reason for the attack on my account, I guess not. Even in the academy or other communities, when you are caught in an act of plagiarism you are warned at least once or twice but my case was not the same. No warning ⚠️ only a means to tarnish my reputation was seen.
Does the investigator have a personal issue with me? This is what I'm yet to figure out. In summary, I do not think it's just because of plagiarism that my account is been attacked. It also includes the assistance I have given to those who look up to me for guidance.
Finally, the question. Is Mentorship on Steemit a bad thing? I want to know so that others too may likely learn from it. I told someone today that my worst mistake was introducing steemit to people. I'm sure that there are users here who have never spoken about the platform to another person and hence no case of theirs will ever surface.
I have always wanted others to get the help I got from steemit and that is why I have always told people about the platform. I have learned a lot and also warn a lot from the platform. I was also guided and that is the reason I didn't keep it to myself alone instead I go about telling people about the goodness of the platform.
I don't want to regret my action of trying to make steemit known here in my community. I just hope that the steemit team will carefully look at this matter and I on my part will try to get all evidence needed for further investigation.
Thank you, friend!

This is heartbreaking to me. I share from your plight as me myself have tried recruiting members to this great platform, but each and everyone of them stopped after few achievements, with @Gesikeme being the only exception to go beyond achievements before stopping too. His own case was, his phone went bad. And I've not seen him active since then.
Why all this, the act of recruiting is indeed tedious, as most of them are interested in getting just a thing or two. I was introduced to this platform May 2021 by @Preye2. I know how difficult I was on him.
But please, don't stop. I really look up to learning from you on this platform, I see you as a mentor and I can make do with your mentorship. Please don't stop. Just take it good faith, as long as we know you are innocent.
Remember "If nobody talks about you, then you are not doing so well". I really look up to you.
Thanks brotherly for your warmth reply on my post, i'm glad i have been able to impact little to a few on the platform. I will surely continue what i have been doing on the platform and hopefully one day everything will be over. We continue to #steem-on 💪
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
Brotherly don't leave this platform, you are intelligent man who keep doing great work. All those contest you usually organised in various community help the steemians to improve their steem power. Your contribution to this platform can never be counted. #steem-on
From my own end, mentorship on steemit is not bad. I believe the truth always prevails.
