BORN AGAIN AND THE NEW CREATION

Our first foundation in Christ starts with born again. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "So if any man is in Christ, he is in a new world: the old things have come to an end; they have truly become new". If any man be in Christ he is a new creation. One becomes a new creature if he or she is born again and therefore he or she walks in the new creation. Jesus was the first to use born again in John 3:3 says, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

WHAT IS BORN AGAIN?

The word born again comes from the Greek word "GENNAO ANOTHEM" which means to be born from above or to be regenerated from above. The Father is above. James 1:17 says,"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning". Therefore born again means to be born from the Father who is God.

HOW DOES A MAN BECOMES BORN AGAIN?

Romans 10:8-9 says,"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved". This let us understand that God’s message is near you. You can speak about it. You can think about it and you can believe it.’ The message is this – that people must believe Christ. And it is this message that we are teaching to people. This message explains how God will save you. It explains what you must do. You yourself must say very seriously to people: ‘Jesus is Lord.’ Also, you must believe deep inside yourself that God raised him, to make him alive again after his death. A man becomes born again by confessing with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and he died and ressurected.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A MAN BECOMES BORN AGAIN?

Colossians 2:6 says, "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him". This verse let us understand that you have agreed that Christ Jesus should be your Lord. And you have become united to him. So, you must continue to do the things that Christ’s people ought to do. The first thingis that you have become a Son of God. John 1:10-13 says,"He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. This give us a clear explanation that Jesus was in the world. God made the world by him. But the world did not know who he was.He came to what was his own. But his own people did not accept him.
But some people did accept him. Some people did believe who he was. So, he gave authority to those people so that they could become God’s children.These children were not born in the usual human way. They were not born because of what any people wanted. They were not born because of what any man decided. No! They were born from God.
Secondly when a man becomes born again he is a citizen of heaven. Philippians 3:20 says,"But remember that we are citizens of heaven. And we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to return from there". Heaven is a location and a realm. Hebrews 12:22 says,"But you have come to Zion mountain and to the city of God, who is alive. You have come to the Jerusalem city that is in heaven. You have come to a place where there are thousands and thousands of happy angels all together".
