  1. A SpaceX fan who visited Texas to see Elon Musk's Starship event spent the night in jail after taking photos of a rocket prototype built by the company - California resident and Tesla owner, JB Wagoner, went to the SpaceX unveiling on Saturday of their Starhopper rocket, and on Sunday hiked out and took some additional commemorative photos. A couple hours after uploading the photos, the sheriff's office contacted him to turn himself in for trespassing. Apparently, someone had taken down a section of chain link fence, and Wagoner says that he didn't see the fence or any trespassing signs. He's now out of jail on $4,000 bond. Police said the arrest was carried out for public safety, since the company has numerous chemicals on the property. Business insider observed that the property is encircled by a chain link fence with "no trespassing" signs, but also that the fence has been taken down or removed in places. In spite of this, Wagoner says that he wants to have a good relationship with SpaceX, because he has been working on plans for a potential regenerative life support system for Mars, and he'd like the company to consider his work.

  2. Can Gimlet Turn a Podcast Network into a Disruptive Platform? - In this podcast, Harvard professors John A. Deighton and Jeffrey A. Rayport discuss their research into Gimlet, a startup podcast network that was launched by two former public radio producers. Deighton specializes in consumer behavior and marketing, and Rayport specializes in studying online media and ecommerce, with a focus on start-ups. They say there are three elements to the radio product, talk, sports, and music, and radio has been driven almost entirely by the car, because 60% of people don't listen to radio anywhere else. The major disruptive factor now is that nearly all cars are being sold with Internet access, so these professors anticipate a looming period of disruption for the radio industry. The surprising decision for Gimlet is that they have decided not to launch their own listener app, which serves as the gateway to audio streaming.

  3. Meet the millennial who’s sworn off her smartphone for 12 months for $100,000 — and why she won’t go back to one - Elana Mugdan is a millenial-generation fiction writer who won the Coca Cola, "No phone for a year" contest, and she is 4 months away from claiming the $100,000 prize. She says she's been reading a lot of books, and she doesn't plan to start using her phone again after the contest ends. In order to claim the prize, she will need to pass a lie detector test at the end of the year. When people learn about the project, she says the first reaction is "I could never do that", but quickly changes to, "I wish I could do that."

  4. Comcast's Universal scoops up more land near new Florida theme park - I don't have a subscription, so can't read the whole article, but according to the summary this will be done in order to launch Universal's Epic Universe, and it will be Comcast's largest-ever investment in the state of Florida.

  5. STEEM Police shoots at Hong Kong protesters - Violence escalated in the Honk Kong protests this week, with police using live fire for the first time in the months of repeat demonstrations. An 18 year old was hospitalized after a gun shot to the chest, but a deputy police commissioner has asserted that the "The actions of an officer who shot live rounds at a teenage protester were “lawful and reasonable".
