Karin Huet
Hello steemians !
Karin Huet is a French writer and sailor, originally from Côtes-d'Armor.
Her father is a military surgeon. She spent part of her childhood in Polynesia and regularly makes trips "around the sea", especially by kayak, from which she draws her stories.
At the age of 18, she met the painter Yvon le Corre in Marseille and boarded his sailboat with him; a first maritime trip that turned her life upside down and that she recounts in their first book together, published in 1978, "Heureux qui comme Iris". This book became the reference for the notebook makers of the following generations.
Karin Huet studied ethnology and English. She has carried out various activities: translator, guardian of a Historic Monument in Fréjus, French-English-Spanish teacher in Polynesia, oyster worker in the Bassin d'Arcachon, correspondent for the Marquises de la Dépêche de Tahiti, writing workshop facilitator in Marseille, a worker on board a factory trawler in the south of Iceland.
She sailed around the Atlantic, paddled through the Tuamotu Archipelago, roamed the Danakil desert, lived in the High Atlas...
A writer, Karin Huet is the author of novels, poems and ethnographic or travel stories, some of which in collaboration with visual artists.
She was for a time the companion of Titouan Lamazou (1955), with whom she published "Onze lunes au Maroc" (2012).
She has also translated from the American, for Gallimard editions, "Le Voyage du Liberdade" by Slocum and "Le Grand Livre des Knots" by Ashley.
I met her long time ago and this summer I took some portraits of her in Provence.
Hope you will like them !
Have a nice day !

She looks beautiful on the photos, so free and happy, seems to be in one with nature. Like the shooting.
