Who is in control?
(Matthew 6:13)
Every act of your life is motivated by a spiritual force.
Who is controlling you?
What is motivating you?
What spirit is being satisfied through your body?
If the spirit of satan you are allowing him to work in you, manifesting through his demons, then we are grieving the Holy Spirit. Any time you allow the enemy to do his will through your mind or body, grieve the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit also wants to use you. But He wants to use you for the glory and service of God. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is not to dominate or crush you, but to fill you.
Satan wants to use you for his selfish purpose, as a pawn in his hands to laugh at God. He wants to use you, abuse you, and then reject you. You are in a state of death when you succumb to the devil's purpose. He challenges God when he works in you through his demons, saying, "Is this someone you love, God? Well, I'm here first and I will not leave. Do you call this man your son? Look what I'm doing your son did.
Temptation is Satan's tool to force you to do something you really do not want to do. Deep in your spirit, you know what you are trying to do is wrong. The worst and most evil criminals in our world know that what they have done is wrong they can blame others for their actions, they can act like they did not care if they did something wrong, be about to be caught, or face the consequences, but inside, they know. They knew when they were doing something wrong, that what they were doing was bad.
The lie of satan is to make you believe that you have the right to do evil.
Society is to blame. You have the right to oppose society.
Your father is guilty. You have the right to rebel against your father.
Your boss is guilty. You have the right to steal or cheat.
God is to blame. He made you this way. You have the right to act your way because he made you with that temper, this anger, this lust, this desire.
The word of God says that you have the right to choose. Joshua said to the Israelites, "Pick them out today whom you serve ... but I and my house will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15). You have the right to choose, a free will, a mind that can make decisions. But you have no right to sin.
Make sure that today, you are giving control of your life only to God.
