Steemit Engagement Challange II | Steem Kindness Contest – How Steemit has changed my life - I'm dolphin smart!

They say that swimming with dolphins is on the bucket list of most people.
It was not on my list when I joined Steemit in 2016 and it was not when I re-joined in January this year.

2016 – Steemit was introduced to me by a young gentleman working for me. I was impressed with the fact that I could earn money while writing so I just fired away and started writing. After attending a Steemit seminar I came to the realization that there is more to it.

The world of cryptocurrenies and trading was way beyond my knowledge and understanding. However, I must admit I was very excited.

Was I hooked? The answer is no.

Due to my new business venture I decided to leave the Steemit platform after I only made a few posts.

2021 – My husband out of the blue told me that he sees I still have funds in my Steemit wallet. Oh okay. And then the search started. What on earth did I do with my keys? I searched my computer, my journals and my black book but could not find it.

About a week after that my husband decided to search his computer and eventually he found it on his iPad. He withdraw the available funds.

2022– January and my husband encouraged me to take a second look at Steemit and I did.

Was I hooked? The answer is no.

Gosh, Steemit changed. It was not the get quick rich scheme most of the people in South Africa was after. Posting in communities, club status and contests was totally new to me.

I felt totally lost but I started to read and read and read. The first person who replied on a reply of mine was @Papi.mati who in his absence I now have to be grateful for. From one of his posts I discovered the Steem4Nigeria Community who welcomed me with open arms although I was from South of Africa.

I met my friend @Ngoenyi who is always willing to answer all my questions and who supported me from the word GO.

Was I hooked? The answer is YES!

I now had one goal in mind! I want to make a success so that I could swim with the dolphins!

05 May 2022 – In four months I’ve done it!

Today I have officially joined the dolphin club!

Steemit has changed my life drastically!

Looking back over these last four months Steemit has changed who I am and my life completely in so many positive ways.

1. I have made so many new friends from all over the world who have been part of the transformation I have gone through
2. I have learned to share my life, my home and my family. Something I could never do on any social media platform
3. I have built my confidence. Gosh I have even posted two selfies
4. I have learned how to learn from others
5. I have discovered my potential and how I can grow in it
6. I now feel secure in myself, who I am
7. I have learned to work in a team and not to be the boss
8. I have discovered that I LOVE supporting and uplifting others
9. I have learned that it is okay to make mistakes and
10. I now have a clear vision of where I want to go

The list goes on but I had to restrict myself to stay within ten points.

My involved on the Steemit platform

As I have only been back on the Steemit platform for the last few months I am still watching and learning. However I do think I have made tremendous progress and I have been actively involved in playing it forward, helping others which for me is absolutely crucial.

• I am an active user in the SteemWomenClub Community and actively involved in the WhatsApp African SteemWomen
• I am an active user in the Steemkids Community and actively involved in the Telegram group for this community
• I am the team leader of The7Up curating team for May
• I am constantly up voting, replying and give encouragement where I can
• I am mentoring numerous Steemians in person

It is not easy for me to sell myself so I will stop right here!

My goal is to get South Africa going again and to help others to also be S..M..A..R..T !

I am not going anywhere! What about you?
