Introduction to the Future of Identities - Tykn
Introduction
Since past times, people have been looking for new opportunities for personal and professional growth, life guarantees or better public or educational services. But an important document is necessary to find really good opportunities, a document that is mandatory and a right anywhere in the world, but in some nations, it is very difficult to obtain or maintain it. We talk about the Identity Document.
As an example, we can talk about countries that are in conflict. Organizations, where birth or identity certificates are stored, are in danger of being destroyed at any time.
Due to the conflicts that the country presents, citizens are forced to emigrate to more developed or advanced nations looking for a better life for their relatives. But when destruction or loss of documents occurs in the country of origin, there are difficulties in verifying the identity of the person. A project that is constantly growing aims to change this problem with the help of the use of the blockchain.
Tykn
Currently, having an identification document is an indispensable requirement, it is what opens the way or gives way for the world to know you and more than that to recognize you. The human being from his birth, when he opens his eyes for the first time must already be recognized, have a name, a provenance, be identified.
Economic status or other barriers that are noted with great emphasis in many places should not interfere so that the registration process takes place. Everyone should have the right to be recognized, to have a name and this should last over time.
Documentation is essential, and Tykn ratifies it by providing valuable help through Blockchain technology.
But where did Tykn come from and what is his purpose with people without identification?
We live in a technological era where data is stored in a gigantic network, but not all nations can count on technological advances, whether due to resources or disability, that is why there are still countries where the identification register is stored in books. The problem of carrying a manual process (accounting books) is that they have a high risk of being lost, stolen or destroyed.
In this case, the CEO of Tykn, Toufic Tey, lived what it was like to be a person without provenance, a man unknown to the world. The documents that served to prove his identity were destroyed during the Gulf War in Kuwait between 1990 and 1991 in "Operation Desert Storm".
The Tykn project is strengthened by being in contact with so many refugees who spent a lot of work to acquire identification. Tey Al-Rjula along with social entrepreneurs Khalid Maliki and Jimmy JP Snoek gave life to Tykn.
Tykn works on solid, secure and reliable bases so that the electronic identification has the place that corresponds to it and the consolidation it deserves, for the purpose for which it was created.
Ana Platform
The system created by Tykn for identity management called "Ana", is the positive change for this era in need of so much humanitarian aid, where there is a deficiency in the documentation of so many people from infants, youth or adults, for the many reasons that they face some countries.
Ana is an identity management system that allows registering and verifying unknown citizens to make them visible. Ana, together with nongovernmental and governmental organizations, provide humanitarian aid in refugee camps or in the places that are required. This platform is built on Sovrin and its code lines are open.
Why Sovrin?
It is a decentralized utility for self-sovereign identity. It is an intelligent identity that everyone can use and have some privileges such as personal protection to people or reduction of transaction costs. Sovrin provides an identity storage format and a verification process to guarantee an interoperable identity management function.
The architecture of Sovrin is decentralized and combines several important technologies such as Decentralized Identifiers and Verifiable Claims, so that the benefits are available to everyone.
Sovrin has a validator node that verifies the transactions that occur in the blockchain. Sovrin allows users to trust and control their own data safely and privately.
Proyecto ZINC
The zero invisible children project (ZINC) consists of certifying all children in conflict zones and refugee camps through the use of the blockchain in a mobile application.
Taking advantage of the blockchain technology specifically Hyperledger Indy, it will allow the registration of completely legal identity of children in the refugee camp in Syria in Lebanon permanently through a mobile application. For its contribution of the ZINC Project to humanity, the Tykn project has won the "Best Idea 2017" award at the Partos Innovation Festival.
Losing our physical identity presents problems when doing some legal procedure, especially in foreign countries when we emigrate. The blockchain serves as a vehicle to register and verify identities without risk to be modified or eliminated. Tykn uses this technology to contribute something to humanity.
Good times are approaching for society in regard to personal documentation, the goal of Tykn has great potential for the evolution of humanity and solve major problems in the near future. Blockchain technology offers us once again opportunities. The Tykn project with the help of other organizations is making a better world when it comes to identifications. Another awesome platform for everyone. Identity issue is one of the major problems of some countries. It's easier to fight crime when you can easily identify the culprit and there's the feeling of joy that you get each time you know that your identity documents are safe in the blockchain.. Thanks for this informative post
