WALK IN THE FAITH OF THE LORD

Corinthians 5:7-9 New International Version (NIV)

For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

We must walk in the faith of the Lord in order to please him. We have shaken our faith for quite long. This is the new year that we have to renew our faith in the Lord, and rededicate our selves well to his service. As Hebrews 11:6 of King James Version says that: "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for him that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

What do we mean by: "walk in the faith of the Lord"? As the Book of Hebrews demonstrated above, to walk in the faith of the Lord means to diligently seek him. To love him with all our heart and might, whether bad or good, whether in happiness or sorrow and whether in bitterness or sweet. As the Book of II Corinthians share with us " for we can live with faith, but not by sight. We cannot say that we have faith in the Lord by looking at things as we see them and being in the flesh. If we want to walk in faith of the Lord, we must walk in spirit, but not by our own sight.

The only way we can walk in the spirit in order to be in faith with the Lord is by dedicating ourselves with the services of the Lord. Maybe, many of us walked on our own ways without given our full attention to the services of God for the previous years. This is the chance to rededicate ourselves in the faith of the Lord. There are many activities in the cause of rendering our services to God. Some of these activities are praying to God always without ceasing and speaking on his words for others to also hear.

We can walk with the Lord through prayers. Our way of communicating to God, is through prayers. We do not see God, we only walk with him through prayers. And through prayers, we therefore establish our relationship with God. He answers our prayers for us, and in returns, He demands our obedience to him.

Jesus said to the Disciples, go to all nations and preach to gospel to them, and when they repent, baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is our charge to honour as the Lord has said. If we want to be faithful Christians, then we have to spread the good news to other people who are losing their lives and the salvation. We can walk in the faith of the Lord, if we can devote our time and energy to render this service to the Lord. We have began the new year, lets try to walk in the faith of the of the Lord.
