Singapore Diaries #3: Singapore Botanic Gardens
Singapore Botanic Gardens:
The main entrance of Singapore Botanic Gardens. As I went in from another entrance, it was already darker when I came out of the Botanic Gardens. The entry is free of cost and it is a very calm and relaxing place if you want to visit with your family and kids.
Visiting places alone is very boring, if you have traveled alone, do comment and let me know.
A long way to go..
After roaming here are there in the botanic gardens, I found out there is one music concert planned at the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage @5:30 PM.
To take this photo, I walked a long way you can see. Let's go back to the concert again...
Though I was not a fan of the kind of music played, but I sat there for 30 minutes and observed people relaxing on the grass and enjoying the music on the Sunday afternoon.
This view was amazing. Unfortunately, I can't upload the videos that I have taken. But, I will try to upload the videos later to Dtube/Youtube.
National Orchid Garden:
After the concert is over, I rushed towards the National Orchid Garden as it was about to close. The ticket price was 5 SGD per person.
There were thousands of flower types and decorations inside the Orchid garden. The place houses many types of birds and monkeys as well.
Here are few photos inside Orchid garden.
Especially the gates were awesome. There were verity types of gates but I liked the ones below. The place looks pretty much greenery. There is no editing on the images, still looks nice.
This is the clock tower which show cases the times of 4 cities: Singapore, London, Vancouver, the fourth one I don't rememeber :)
Behind the tower, the Orchid garden entrance, which is already closed.
Ginger Garden:
I could not understand why the name is ginger garden. The place is home to a many types of swans, turtles, fishes and other animals/birds.
There are literally many fountains inside the Ginger Garden.
While coming out of the Botanic Garden, I saw this real beauty. This place is designed for photography I guess and you can see many couples waiting for their turn to photo shoot. I waited almost 15-20 mins to take this perfect picture, else there will be someone inside the frame all the time.
Swan Lake:
Though the name is Swan Lake, I did not find any swans apart from the statues :). But there are countless fishes inside the lake which can be viewed by throwing biscuits or fish foods into the lake. The fishes will be in groups always and even you can see fishes with size around 3 feet.
After spending around 4-5 hours in Botanic garden, It was already evening. During evening and night time, as the lights are turned on, the place becomes more romantic and colorful. Though I could not wait, but if you plan to visit Singapore Botanic Garden someday, try to spend the evening there and thank me later.
The place is full of such structures. I have captured tons of photos and videos like this.
A well spent Sunday afternoon at Singapore Botanic Garden, an awesome place.
All the photos I have uploaded are raw photos and are not not edited of any kind.
