Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!. Roll Over.
Hahaha i have a knack for funny captions. This is what excitement does to you and it has the capability of giving you the needed strength, courage and motivation needed for the next phase. I am excited and just can't contain it.
The match of the day started between Brazil and Costa Rica. it was really a match in which Brazil had to throw all they had and finally it paid off.
Costa Rica had the chance to go ahead early on, and they missed the glorious chance to punish Brazil. Their player shot wide right inside the box, a chance they will come to kick themselves on, later.
Gabriel Jesus thought he had opened the deadlock until he was flagged offside, which was actually the correct decision. Brazil had several chances, they threatened Costa Rica's defense line, and even hit the bar. Navas was equal to the task and denied Brazil on numerous occasions. Brazil had a penalty shout, when Paulinho was dragged but the referee waved play on, but Brazil won't be denied for too long, as they struck twice in 5 minutes. Coutinho broke Costa Rica's heart just on the stroke of 90 minute with a poke into the net, after a brillaint work by Neymar and Neymar got on the score sheet too in the 95th minute, with a simple tap in, to make it 2-0. Hard work paid off for Brazil this time.
The second match of the day came between Nigeria and Iceland. Nigeria played an organized Iceland who always defend and attack in numbers. Iceland got the better of Nigeria in the first half but Nigeria's goal keeper; Ezoho kept them at bay.
The second half got better for Nigeria, and whatever the coach must have told them, worked. They came out with intent in the second half, and Ahmed Musa was particularly looking bright.
Ahmed Musa gave Nigeria the lead in the 49th minute. He lashed in his goal and left the keeper with no chance. Ndidi could have added to the scoreline, but was denied by the deflection and the goal keeper for his dipping shot, in the 56th minute. Ahmed Musa hit the bar in the 74th minute after a brilliant effort, but he won't be denied any longer in the 75th minute, when he sprinted into the box, cleared the defenders and left the keeper for dead, before giving an exquisite finish into the net. What a great piece of individual brilliance by Ahmed Musa. What a goal that was. The whole stadium erupted into excitement, at least from the Nigerian supporters.
Iceland got a lifeline in the 80th minute when VAR helped the referee to make a decision he overlooked at first, and he pointed to the penalty spot for Iceland. Sigursson took the resulting penalty and skied his effort over the bar. He beat the keeper, and even beat the post. That moment proved decisive, as Iceland looked deflated and Nigeria could have extended their lead even afterward.
The Super Eagles soared!.
The last match of the day came between Serbia and Switzerland. They both had great chances, but the Swiss threatened more and that proved decisive.
Serbia took the lead in the 5th minute via a great header from Mitrovic but Xhaka restored parity in the 52nd minute with a wonderful trademark strike and in the 90th minute, Shaqiri had other matters at hand when he broke free and slotted home to break the heart of the Serbians. He celebrated it in Ronaldo's style: Take off your shirt and reveal your muscles hahaha. Shaqiri was really in the game as he had a wonderful "turn and strike" effort in the 57th minute that struck the bar.
What a great day this is and heartbreak for some. Nigeria already gave Argentina a lifeline by winning against Iceland. More surprises coming tomorrow i guess. With football, nothing is ever certain. Fingers crossed for tomorrow's games.

Nice post! Interesting information!
As a Nigerian, I hope we did not just hand a lifeline to Messi, on Tuesday I'd love to see us Match out victorious. Are we not the Giants of Africa?
We merely did our own job so i wouldn't say we handed a lifeline to them. We just need to follow up with what we did before and i pray we win or advance from the group with Croatia.
We all pray, I hope to come here and celebrate.
Me too brother...we will celebrate together.
