Midnight Spookify #1 : The Haunted Mansion
I was in college way back 2014. I was graduating that time so as expected, I was like crazy running for my school papers, reviews and presentation. My university is about 1 hour travel away from my home. I was exhausted travelling in the morning and a zombie-look-alike every 8 in the evening since my last subject is 6 pm to 7 pm and I used to finish some of my schools works before going home.
One night, as I was waiting for a cab in front of our campus I saw my cousin accidentally. I was surprised since I never knew he is studying here in Manila. I talked for about a minute and I asked him where did he stay while studying since his family is based on our province Masbate.
Instead of answering my question, he offered to stay overnight in his base. I was about to refuse when he handed me his phone and we called my mom that I'll be staying in his house for this night.
We entered a subdivision and walk for about 15 minutes before we got home. I was so tired and sleep so what's more important is to get by body a bed and sleep tight. Before we enter the gate, I had a time to check on the house in front of me and I was like 'wow!' this one is huge though kinda old style. I wanted to asked him how did he got this house but he opened the gate finally so I just followed him as he walk inside. A huge wooden door opened and I was shookt again of seeing a big space inside. Another wow! How did he get this? This is cool! I was wondering how he got this home when he's still studying? He cut my thought when he tapped my back and pointed a door. He showed me my room, I thank him and threw myself on the bed.
I'm not used to sleep in other house but just for this time, I need this. I closed my eye to relax when I heard 3 knocks on the door. I opened the door to check it but no one is behind it. The hallway is empty with the little light coming from the window on the left side. I was about to close the door when I've heard a foot steps on the left side near the window. Maybe that's my cousins friend who also lives here, I guess that is her room. I walked to check on the foot steps maybe she needs something because she knocked on me.
As I'm in front of the last door near the window, I felt confused because the door is locked. I feel cold seeing the padlock and thinking about the foot steps i've heard here awhile ago. I put myself back on my room to wash my face. I opened the bathroom and I saw a bathtub on it. I don't know why but I can feel a cold air in my whole body when I saw a huge mirror in front of me. I shrugged my body and started washing my face, as I put a towel on my face my heart pumped hard when I thought there's a shadow figure on the tub. I check on it and saw nothing. Maybe I'm too tired. I am on my bed thinking about my thesis. I can hear foot steps outside and just ignored it since I saw no one when I checked on it twice.
I am breathing hard in a nightmare. I hurrily checker my phone and it's 2:55 in the evening. I am sweating cold from that weird nightmare. There were 4 people looking at me while i'm sleeping, I opened my eyes and screaming for help but there's no voice from my mouth. I am pushing those people away but their eyes are getting big and bigger and bigger until I woke up. Its dark and cold. I don't believe in ghost thingy but I feel scared now. I have a weird feeling like someone is with me. I opened the light and tried to sleep again. I closed my eyes ignoring my nightmare when someone knocks again. I opened the door and look from left to right but no one is there. Again. I am pissed if someone's making fun of sturbing me, I walk to check if there's an open room and i'll kick the ass of that naugty bug. The first room which from the window is locked, it is the room I check before I slept. The next room is locked again, the third room is mine. The 2nd room is locked also but the light is open inside, for sure this is the room of my cousin's housemate and the last room near the front door in my cousin and his wife's room. No one is in the hallway so who the hell is messing with me? I've heard a whisper from the kitchen so I ran to it. This time, I got you whoever you are!
I don't know where the switch is so I just used the light of my phone. I checked under the table and behind the wall to the sink but I didn't caught my suspect. I almost died when I turned my back seeing a face right in front of my face. Fck!
He asked me what am I doing here so I told him everything. He hurrily took me inside their room and locked the door. I am confused, I was like what? Why?
His wife asked me if I was crying, I answered no. They just looked to each other like they knew everything. Are you guys messing with me?!
After hearing all the stories, I was like soaked in an ice water. I felt the scared that I never felt in my entire life.
The owner of this house was killed in just an hour year 2005. It is huge and composed of 5 rooms but no one occupies it for a long period of time. The price for renting it is too good to be true but because of the unknown spirits that maybe lives here, no one wants to stay here.
All the foot steps I've heard is unknown.
The knocks of my door is unsolved.
The whisper I've heard is uh idunno.
The light inside the housemate's room is idunno because my cousin said, his friend is in a vacation that's why he wanted someone to be with them and the light inside her room is off. Huhu why did I saw it open awhile ago then?!!
What made me chill more is the next words.
The killer took the father's life in the hallway. The room I occupied is the daughter's room which killed in her bathtub. The mother and the child stabbed on his room (the one occupied by the housemate) and ran he through the hallway and took her last breathe with his dad.
Now, the all the braveness in my body is washed out. I can't move or I don't wanna move. I stayed in their room and just waited for the sun. I hurrily ran to exit the house to go home. But before I go home, I drop off to church. I don't want to be with any spirits. My God. That was the most unforgettable night of my life.
By the way, my cousin just stayed there for almost a month. After a neighbor told them the story, they looked for an apartment in rush. They was also disturbed by the foot steps, knocks and some weird stuffs but they just ignored it. But after hearing the story behind those unknown happenings, they leaved the house in no time.
