Ciao a tutti, amiche e amici di Italy e di Steemit.
Di solito il sabato me lo lascio per affrontare temi leggeri, ma oggi dopo aver letto un articolo molto interessante su Lifegate sull'impatto ambientale della guerra in Ucraina, ho deciso di condividerlo su Steemit.
Vi siete mai chiesti quante emissioni di CO2 sono state emesse in questi anni di guerra?
Ben 230 milioni di tonnellate di CO2, che equivalgono alle emissioni annuali di interi Paesi europei messi insieme!
Inoltre l'articolo mette in evidenza le contraddizioni dell'UE, che da un lato finanzia l'Ucraina e dall'altro continua ad acquistare combustibili fossili dalla Russia, di fatto contribuendo indirettamente alle sue entrate.
Soltanto in questo ultimo anno, parliamo di 18,7 miliardidi euro di aiuti a Kiev e 21,9 miliardi inviati a Mosca per il gas e il petrolio. (Rif.)
Ma chi pagherà mai per questo disastro climatico? O, come sempre, il conto lo lasceremo ai posteri?
A fornire i dati delle emissioni, è il rapporto dell’Initiative on GHG Accounting of War, uno studio che analizza l'impatto ambientale della guerra, misurando le emissioni di gas serra causate dai conflitti.
Inoltre secondo il rapporto, la Russia dovrebbe essere ritenuta responsabile delle enormi emissioni di gas serra causate dalla guerra in Ucraina e pagare per i danni ambientali, stimati per oltre 42 miliardi di dollari.
Ma li pagherà davvero?
Visto come si stanno mettendo le cose con Trump, che pur di riabilitare Putin come figura politica, vuole cancellare la realtà mettendo sullo stesso piano l'aggressore e il paese aggredito, è difficile sperare in qualcosa di positivo.
Come cambiano in fretta le cose..
Riusciremo a far valere una giustizia ambientale quando finirà la guerra in Ucraina?
Lo so, è un'utopia, le potenze politiche quando si tratta dell'ambiente preferiscono girarsi dall'altra parte.

What President Trump wants Z to do is hold an election. Z should easily go for that, it's mean.
When there is martial law during wartime, elections cannot be held.
Moreover, sending voters to polling stations would expose them to enormous risk, considering that Russia continues to bomb. They would be easy targets.
You're correct! Which is why step 1) would be to call for a cease fire so that a safe and correct vote can be held.
Oh, as for holding an election:
Step 2) if a cease fire is not granted, there are numerous ways to hold an election such as a show of hands for and against with responsible persons writing down who is for which candidate and if it is Z., the signatures of who is for and who is against. A vote if confidence!
One) the Russians will be pointed out to the whole world as only interested interested in slaughtering whoever is in their way and adding to their holdings.
Two) The legitimacy of their claim for an invasion will be sorely questioned/examined by the whole of the world.

After Trump's meeting with Z, the EU, the UK and other allies, including Canada, are mobilising to call for a one-month truce. The goal is to find an agreement that not only favours Putin, but also protects Ukraine, which is the invaded country.
I'm sorry that Trump is supporting Putin; we Europeans do not see this positively. Putin has expansionist ambitions and supporting him as Trump does is really dangerous for the whole of Europe.
For the first time in many years, the European continent is thinking about rearming and even creating a European army. This worries me. The future seems uncertain.
Yet, the Western democracies were once allies, but it seems the wind has changed.
Trump is not supporting Putin. Trump is leading the United States. Trump is doing what he thinks is best for the United States. Except for a few of the EU countries, the United States pays the bill for Europe's defense, the United Nations, the world health organization, all kinds of stuff, like the primary defense against the houthis pirate attacks on shipping.
1/6th of the Federal Budget of the U.S. now goes to interest on the national debt.
We kept China alive from Japanese invasion, Russia: gave them almost every plane, rifle, bullet, bomb, for World War II.
The democratic party of the United States has turned this country into a mess. Some Republicans.
It was just found out there's about 350 million people receiving Social Security from age zero to 390 that received social security that are dead! The Democrats responded, if they need it they should have the social security.
I hope my application is finished, finalized today. I should get the maximum amount but they lost it did not record the payments I made to social security and so I get a near minimum amount. Whoopie!
While dead people are getting the maximum amount.
I could go on but what's the point with Europeans?
Yesterday, something occurred that I participated in and the world may be a lot safer today. It may be a lot safer forever. One can hope right?
I don't know if I will write about the actions. We're born, we live and learn. What comes next is up for debate...

I understand your point of view; the situation in the US and around the world is complex and full of challenges.
There are definitely many aspects that need improvement, both in the US and Europe.
In reality, all countries contribute to the funding of the UN, WHO, and other international organizations, not just the US.
When it comes to defense spending in Europe, the figures are actually quite substantial, totaling €326 billion. Even French President Macron mentioned this to Trump in one of their meetings, highlighting that Europe contributes more to its own security than many might think.
Trump is right to focus on the US, but the US national debt, which is huge and constantly growing, is not Europe's fault.
It’s a shame that the relationship between the US and the EU is being strained, especially at such a delicate time in global geopolitics.
But hopefully, with time, both sides can find common ground and work together toward a more stable and peaceful world.😊

Yep, France, Britain, Germany pay.
The U.S. Defense Budget was $826 billion last year give or take $10,009 for each $30 HDMI cable. As for contributions to the U.N., Who, NATO well I forget those numbers but um we even contributed to WUHAN LABS on the COVID-19 Project. What a great thing? (Yeah Right! ((American Sarcastic written statement)) that's two in a row )
We have 13,000 mile per hour in the atmosphere bomber which goes into also outer space. There are two of those.
Anyways, I have learned all good things come to an end sometime. Maybe this is it, maybe not. Yesterday was such a a banner for the Earth, it's survival.
Europe has a greater population than the U.S. by maybe as much as two hundred million people, maybe more than that. That even counting the 350 million or so dead people that receive social security from ages zero to 390. So we need to fix some things.
If we don't my foresight will be perfect and I hate being correct on things like that.

Yes the EU population is about 100 million more than that of the US. We have many problems too, because we are 27 different countries, each with its own characteristics. It's not easy to keep it all together.
As for your 350 million people taking money even though they are dead, I am not very well informed. But I can tell you that in my country, Italy, we are used to hearing about fraud of this kind, even fake invalids take the subsidy then it turns out that they are very healthy. And I could tell you many other scams of my fellow citizens, unfortunately..
