These Diamonds Are Not Forever - Imprinted by LightCaptured
"Diamonds are forever", a line from the lyrics of a famous song, from one of the James Bond movies, if I am not mistaken.
These diamonds, that I am about to show you today, though, last only few hours. Tops!
However, they give so much beauty to the world, and the kind of beauty everyone could enjoy, even not for so long...
Moreover, those are diamonds that had been formed centuries, if not millenniums ago. Not by carbon, but my oxygen and hydrogen molecules instead ;)
That kind of diamonds could be seen at the famous beach in the Southeaster part of Iceland, it is a walking distance from the biggest island ring road #1.
Here, Mother Nature does amazing work... Once the big chunks of the glacier melt, they travel down to the glacier lake that I already mentioned before in my posts. Then, big pieces of centuries-old ice slowly floats towards the Atlantic Ocean where the piece are broken down into much smaller ones on the black pebbled beach, until they all slowly melt fully away.
I've seen pictures by other travel photographers. Every day, different shapes and sizes. Some of them resemble other objects, of course, our minds always search for something similar...
Now, just in case you wonder, what did bring that lovely set of pictures to you? That would be the yellow warning code for high temperatures today for the region I live :) So let the chill begin! :)))

Oh, I don't approve of that. 😆 Let summer be summer, with all the heat. There is a time for everything and let everything be as it is.
But what you show is unique. Beautiful in its own way, despite the notion of temperature it carries with it. And even more beautiful because it is short-lived. Kind of reminds me of the destruction of a precious work of art after it's been bought/shot in this case. And here we are even talking about self-destruction. So, on the one hand, the preciousness of something that takes years to form, on the other hand, the preciousness of something that is destroyed in a short time.🤔
Ah, oh, ok then. Let's have that! :D
