What are YOU Grateful for TODAY? - #GratitudeTrain No. 46
None of us are completely immune to all circumstance or environmental factors, so yes - we will get emotionally and mentally affected by various things at different times in our lives - but it is how we MANAGE that which makes the difference. Yesterday I made a brief post about all the negative drama which seems to be going on in Steemit lately because of the market prices. Now, yes I will grant you that has been down in the dumps for some time but throwing the towel in at a time like this just makes no sense to me at all... and neither does whinging about it.
Having had to keep a business afloat for eleven years in a VERY unstable South African economy, I learnt a hell of a lot about perseverance and the reality of the matter is that when the chips are down you don't give up - you work five times as hard!
But I do not see many people on Steemit doing that, which is unfortunate because it will be their loss at the end of it all.
I am one of those people here who is "supposed" to be living off my earnings, and at this rate I will be moving into a cardboard box pretty soon, so in my opinion - if ANYONE should be squealing like a banshee it should be people like myself... but I am not, for one simple reason. Failure, is not an option - and when that is the case, you buckle up and ride the wave to the best of your ability in the KNOWING that you will make it through the tube and out to the other side.
And even if I AM in fact in a cardboard box by the time I see the light at the end of the tunnel, well - then I will start to rebuild and refurnish it as I go along - but what I WON'T do, is run away into some dark little corner until that time comes.
Welcome to the #GratitudeTrain No. 46
Today I am grateful for the fact that my experiences in life have taught me the true tests of resilience and perseverance - and how to remain positive during rough seas.
What is the purpose of The Gratitude Train?
......
I am of the firm belief that the habit of practicing gratitude on a daily basis is the key to shifting our lives in a positive direction. This is not only the expression of gratitude for the positive things in our lives, but also for the challenges which we are often faced with.
But sometimes, we can get wrapped up in our day to day existence and agenda, and it is not that we aren’t grateful, but rather that we simply forget to actually verbalise it or take the time to offer it a moment of dedication even in thought.
It is also true that surrounding yourself with the positive attitudes and mind-set of others, that it has a ripple effect on yours too…
So for ALL of us, including myself, I have decided to start this #gratitudetrain. We all spend a good portion of our lives here browsing through our Steemit feeds, so why not build a positive habit in the process. I think it will be great to share something every day that we are grateful for in our lives, no matter how big or small it may be.
Whether it is a new career path, a new hobby, an achievement of your child, a new relationship, a challenge overcome or simply a new pair of shoes… it doesn’t matter! There is without question… ALWAYS something we can take a moment to be grateful for!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
......
Step 1.
So starting today, in the comments section of #gratitudetrain post No. 1 – write something that you are grateful for in your life and start it with the number… as in if this is the first time you are sharing on the #gratitudetrain, then write the number “1.” And then state what you are grateful for.
Step 2.
Keep a record of your #gratitudetrain expressions shared in the comments somewhere in a word doc or such.
Step 3.
When you reach 30 – then publish a post on your own profile and be sure to use the #gratitudetrain tag or to tag me @jaynie in the post.
As simple as that!
The idea of this being, that not only will you develop a healthy and positive habit but at the end of 30 days when you share your own post, you will be able to reflect back and realise, just how MUCH GOODNESS there is in your life!
Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

Thank you for this, as i am reading it at a perfect time for me. Perfect, and not in the sense that i am at my best, but rather the opposite.
first and foremost, i am
Grateful for my family.
Everyday i feel blessed for the gift of family. to have my mother, father and 2 brothers that i call my own is a rare gift. we tend to forget how fragile life is, and that none is guaranteed tomorrow, therefore the fact that they are alive doesnt make me more special than others, but just reminds me of the rare blessing i've got, and to not take it for granted.
thank you for this initiative, most of us need this around here.
What a beautifully heartfelt expression of love and gratitude @purpletanzanite xxx

I recently submitted a chapter to a novel for a contest here on steemit. I am grateful for everyone who read it and offered feedback or suggestions prior to me posting it. This includes my mom, dad, brother, wife, and @fromage. Thank you all so much for your support!

#26 I am grateful for positive-minded people like you. You just keep on going whatever life (or Steemit) throws your way and I think that should be honored. Especially because of all the things you do for the #steemitbloggers :)

#46 - Today I am grateful that even though my body is being stupid again (as in, my Essential Tremors are back), we now have an idea of what helps, and I had WEEKS of feeling blissfully normal (something I didn't think would ever be possible again). I just know we'll figure something out, and I so appreciate the ray of hope.
