The best-paid celebrities of 2018, according to Forbes
American boxer Floyd Mayweather and actor George Clooney are the highest-paid celebrities of 2018, according to Forbes' annual list of the 100 stars that have made the most money in the entertainment industry in the last year.
Mayweather is in first place thanks to his famous fight with Irish wrestler Conor McGregor, who reported him a good part of the 285 million dollars (243 million euros) he has won. In second place is Clooney, who pocketed 239 million after selling his brand of Casamigos tequila to the Diageo liquor store.
The third place is for Kylie Jenner, the youngest multi-millionaire and best-paid woman on the list. The member of the television reality show 'The Kardashians' has won 166.5 million dollars, achieving an estimated sum of 900 million dollars thanks to the brand of cosmetics launched in 2016.
The footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped from the 5th place, in which he was located last year, to 10 pocketing some 108 million dollars. Despite this decline, the former Real Madrid player has won 15 million dollars more than the previous year due in part to the contract of 31 million euros net per season signed by Juventus of Turin.
The artist Beyoncé, who last year was ranked in the second place, has also fallen to number 36, earning 60 million dollars, a big decrease compared to the 105 million that she pocketed in 2017.
The only Spaniard in the ranking is Rafa Nadal. The tennis player is ranked 72 due to the 41.4 million dollars earned this year. On the other hand, one of its great competitors, Roger Federer, leads the 23rd place with a total sum of 77.2 million dollars.
This year's list shows that the amount of money earned by celebrities is generally much higher than the previous year. While in 2017, number one, rapper Sean Combs, pocketed 130 million dollars, this year that number has multiplied to reach 285 million dollars of Mayweather.
