Happy 5th month anniversary

Today marks the completion of 5 months of working in Vietnam!

Being on my own in this foreign country, I've learn to be more independent. Firstly, fitting myself with the culture, food, language and lifestyle. To think back of the journey that I've had here is beyond any words of explanation. Fear was definitely on the top list sitting alongside with excitement. Never have I done anything so bold in my life; leaving my comfort zone of work and family behind and packing myself with just 4 suitcase and moving myself away from my loved ones.

I could only do this because of the support and confidence my family have for me. Without their strong backing and support, none of this would be able to happen. For that, I'm so grateful to each and every one of them. Even my boys have changed to be more independent and helpful around the house. Guess no Mommy to clean up after them and having Daddy to scold them is far worst than Mommy's constant nagging!

Seeing how I have grown in the last five months in both mentally and spiritually is phenomenal. God has been by my side day in day out, guiding me silently and manuvering the directions for my journey. No matter how frustrating, sad or tired I may be, He has shown me the light. I just needed to be patient and trust that He is looking out for me from up above. Sometimes, when I am down under, it is He who whispers words of encouragement to me and unknowingly, he will bring an angle to sit by my side and give me strength once again.

I can count the number of times that I seek HIS counsel and ask for his strength and guidance. I'm glad my faith has grown stronger since I've been in this country. Meeting fellow spiritual friends and fellow countryman does helps too. It's just isn't the same until we start talking Manglish or Singlish.. The jokes that we share and laugh out loud is just spectacular. Who doesn't love Crazy Rich Asians !

Looking back at my 5 month journey, there isn't much that I would want to change. All that has happened, must have happened for a reason and for that only HE can say why. We can only ensure that we live everyday to the fullest and stay true to our values and principles in life.

Two words says it all for me.. I must've preached this many times over but it is very real and true to me. Thanks to my mentor, Hanley Chew ( not related in any way except the surname )

With that, I also adopted this philosophy to my values...

I pray for a continuous journey in this country and that I will be able to fulfill my true calling in both my career and family life. After all, without my family, where would I be... NO WHERE!
