I am thinking of Laos as another stopover on my journey.
I haven't heard it of a visa fee. Even if you are travelling for less than 30 days, is the charge valid?

Me too before to go there. Only travelers with passports from Japan, Russia, Korea and Southeast Asian countries do not need a visa to enter for the others the price depends on the country.
That is weird! So it is good that you have written this article because such a fee would be a big surprise for us and would overburden our modest budget.
