Goodybest's Story: Back To School Shopping Adventure ( Sept., 3rd 2024)

Dear Diary,

Yesterday was a whirlwind of excitement for me as I embarked on an annual back-to-school shopping trip for my kids; I was a bit nostalgic, too. My kids wanted to join me but I didn't accept, because this year I decided to shop at the general market, goods are a bit cheaper here, and the itam market is known for its vibrant atmosphere & array mixture of stalls.

I called my Sis to come over to assist me, and we set off in the afternoon, meeting with the mid-day crowd was sure. As we entered the market, the aroma of various street foods wafted through the air, enticing us with mouthwatering snacks after our shopping spree. We were ready for the adventure that awaited us!

I started with the shoes; I shopped for different kinds of shoes for my daughter, oh need I tell you, she will start this term because she is up to two. My sis did hesitate to point me to beautiful things, She was drawn to a particular stall. "Mama, look, those shoes are just perfect for Blessing. Let's explore!" My goodness, everything was beautiful; I chose 5 different shoes for my princess.

I didn't bother about stopping at the stationary and stopping at the uniform stalls because the school will provide the writing and reading materials for them, as their uniforms, and I've paid for them.

Next, we navigated through the maze of the market to the clothing section. We spotted a stall with neatly folded dresses and underwear, so we went there and grabbed several underwear items: socks, singlets of different sizes & boxers, pants, and pantyhose! I also got a new back-to-school shoes for my boys and they love it! I made a mental note of the budget, but then my kid's happiness was worth every penny.

Finally, it was evening, and we needed to go; we went to where we would get material for our upcoming important event; we saw the one we loved and then booked the color we loved. I bought a shoe and jewelry for myself, and we exited the Market after hours of shopping, we treated ourselves to some skewered tasty meats and fresh juices. I savored the sweet taste of juicy orange while chit-chatting with my Sis about the high cost of living and how my kids would react to their new items.

With our bags filled to the brim and smiles on our faces, we headed home, I felt tired but fulfilled, though I couldn't get all their items because we ran out of time, but I will get the remaining ones at the mall, and I would like to go with them, so that we would create memories together - I mean a tradition that will mark the passage of time and the joys of growing up.

As I reached home, my kids happily welcomed me; they were happy about everything I bought for them. My daughter was especially fond of her shoes, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. We survived another year of back-to-school shopping and we did it in a fun way! Oh my here is the beginning and another exciting school year ahead!
