Saturday breakfast || Yam and Sauce, Yam and Egg and Yam and sauce oil.
Good morning steemits. Its a beautiful Saturday morning here in Ilorin city. My little brothers wanted to eat yam this morning even though I'm not much fan of yam and its been a while i ate it. Now the point is, we all have different choice when it comes to what we eat the yam with. I prefer Yam and egg, my brother Henry prefers Yam and sauce while my second brother prefers yam and sauce oil and so i set out to cook. Fortunately for me, the sauce i made yesterday was still remaining so i just warmed it for them.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED.
- Yam
- Sauce (tomatoes, pepper and onions blended and fried in vegetable oil)
- Salt
- Egg
- Seasonings
PROCESS
- I sliced, peel and rinsed the yam in salty clean water. I added salt to remove the starch from the yam.
- I placed the clean yam into the pot, add little water and salt to taste. I put the salt where water is. So it can easily dilute.
- Then i covered the pot, place it on fire and waited for like 15mins for it to boil and soften. To know if its fully soft, i took a small piece and eat.
- For the sauce, i added little oil and warmed it.
- For the egg, i added little sauce and oil to the pot and used it to fry already mixed egg.
- I kept stirring so it wont burn till it becomes fully fried.
