Upper Shardenga

Upper Shardenga - a village in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region. The administrative center of the Upper Shardenga rural settlement. The distance to the district center of Veliky Ustyug by road is 46.5 km.

The village of Upper Shardenga is located near the river Shardenga, which separates this village from the village of Gorbachevo.

The dominant feature of these places is the arch - the remains of the destroyed church of St. George. This letter "П" can be seen from afar, as it is located on a high hill.

Barns and woodsheds - a sign of multi-apartment, and for me - coziness.

Once there was a school and a kindergarten.

Now at school the House of culture is located.

And the kindergarten was completely closed. The point of no return has come.

Many piles of firewood, which almost every house has, are striking.

On the streets deserted, dogs do not bark.

Once in the village the streets were asphalted, but no one ever repaired them, and the devastation in the post-collapse years finished them off.

Maybe this season, and maybe always so postapocalyptic looks Upper Shardenga.

There are colorful places that would look quite comfortable without dirt.

In the summer, of course, it will be more pleasant to the eye.

In the courtyards of houses and on some streets there are wooden walkways.

And here is the worst photo from the entire series: an abandoned two-story multi-apartment building. It is said that at first everyone was eager to live in it, and as it came to a dilapidated state, everyone fled from there.

This is the only two-story building in the whole village.

A resident of one of the houses carries firewood from the street to his yard and puts them in a woodpile.

• Previously, there were about fifty villages in the vicinity, and now there are a couple of inhabited... the rest is overgrown with forest. When all tpeople mowing the grass and plowing the ground, it was life, - the man said.
  

So it is: there are still settlements on the map from the satellite, but there is no trace of them left. So this village may gradually disappear.

The only store is still working, but everything goes to the fact that the car shop will be arriving soon.

In these stores always sold everything that is necessary, relating not only to food.

Upper Shardenga stands on a high hill, and down below the river Shardenga is the village of Gorbachevo. In principle, these settlements are almost one unit.
