Ingredients:
• Flour: one and a half cup ( 1 ½ cup)
• Sugar: 1 cup
• Banana: 3 in number, medium-sized and well ripe
• Eggs: 2 in number, fresh
• Butter: unsalted, half cup (125 ml)
• Vanilla essence: 1 teaspoon
• Salt: one pinch
The preparation:
After you collect all the ingredients required you start preparing your banana bread. Feeling excited? Yes, you should be, and hopefully, you are waiting anxiously to follow every step and get done with the baking of your favorite dessert.
Okay going back to the preparation steps.
• Step1: The preheating:
Preheat the oven to 350-degree centigrade before doing anything else. (This is important as you cannot make the batter wait after mixing it for the oven to be heated. Else wise it is not recommended to put the baking material in cold oven owing to the extra time required and probably poor resultant quality of your banana bread.
• Step 2: Mixing of liquid contents:
You have to mash the ripe bananas you have, one by one, to make sure these are properly mashed. You can do it using a simple fork.
After banana mashing, add the unsalted butter with it and mix it lightly.
Add sugar in the batter and mix it thoroughly for a few minutes to make a smooth paste.
Now add the two eggs and keep mixing it to get the contents well combined.
Vanilla essence is then added in it.
• Step 3: The making of batter:
In a separate bowl, better be a large one, put the flour and salt. Give this a stir with the help of spoon. Now add the banana mixture in it and fold it properly until well combined.
• Step 4: The pouring in:
Prepare the loaf pan by putting a butter paper in it well cut according to its size. You can also use a sandwich wrapping plastic sheet and grease it. Whatever you have available in your home, from the either of two. Now place the mixture in the loaf pan and put it in the preheated oven.
• Step 5: The final baking:
Bake the banana bread for around 60 minutes. After 45 minutes have passed, check the bread by passing the spoon handle in it. If the batter sticks to it, give it extra time around 20 minutes and repeat the process of checking it with the spoon.
After it is baked, let it cool for a few minutes. I know it is difficult to wait but it is better to do. Now using knife or cake spatula, cut it into pieces. You will notice that it will be dense and not much fluffy as with baking soda, but believe me, as soon as you taste it, you will forget what you have put in it and what you haven’t. It does taste heavenly, the each and every bite of it does! The creamy buttery banana bread is going to melt in your mouth like nothing else.
Modifications:
If you are a nut lover, you can add your favorite nut in the banana bread. These can be almonds, peanuts, walnuts, flaxseed, sesame or anything of your choice.
Being a chocolate lover you can also add chocolate chips in it without being worried for its baking time.
A pinch of cinnamon powder can also be added to give it the aroma of cinnamon besides the taste.
There are also banana bread recipes that use yeast in it. It changes the recipe of the banana bread all over, however. We will share this with you the next time. Till then enjoy the banana bread you have already made.
