We all love science!

Basically, science is all around us, and we have to love it!
That’s why, if you are planning your visit to Birmingham, I have great news, there is a must-see attraction that you will love, most of all kids and science lovers! It is great that you can travel and while traveling you can go and have fun while visiting attractions that you are interested in and by the way, you will make great memories, learn new stuff and be mind blown.

So, if you are in Birmingham or you are planning your visit, well science lovers and all of you that are a little interested, there is an amazing center that you have to go and check it out, the McWane Science Center, which is also known as McWane Center. It is a science museum and research archive, which is located in downtown Birmingham, the exact address is 200 19th Street N.

The fantastic center was opened back on July 11th in 1998.
It is a state-of-the-art science center, it has an aquarium and also 280seat IMAX Dome Theater. It is a huge Center, I’m talking about more than 9,000 square feet/800m2 of interactive exhibits that include the Challenger Learning Center of Alabama; it was created in memory of Space Shuttle Challenger Flight 51-L crew.

The ticket prices are:

• Adventure Halls Only: - adults 15$, kids, 12$, seniors 14$
• IMAS Only: - adults 9$, kids, 8$, seniors 8$
• Combo Tickets (IMAX & Adventure Halls): - adults 20$, kids 15$, seniors 18$
  *Kids under 2 don’t pay for entrance

The Center is open:

• On weekdays from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm
• On Saturday from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm
• On Sunday from 12:00 pm to 06:00 pm.

The center offers a parking deck and convenient parking on the 2nd Avenue North, and the cost is 5$. The deck is open from 06:30 am to 06:30 pm. There is also additional parking that is available on the streets that are surrounding the Center, and from Monday to Friday there is a 2 hour limit on the street parking, the meter charges 0.25$/h, but it is free on weekends and Holidays.
